The importance of external beer keg washer

An external keg washer is an important part of a professional brewery keg cleaning system. While the internal cleaning system removes beer residue and microorganisms from inside the keg, the external washer cleans the outside surface, bottom, handles, and fittings of the keg.
Why is an external keg washer important?
1. Removes dirt and beer residue
Kegs are frequently exposed to beer spills, dust, mud, grease, and other contaminants during transportation and storage. External washing removes these contaminants before the keg is refilled.
2. Improves brewery hygiene
A clean external surface reduces the possibility of dirt and microorganisms being transferred into the filling area or onto operators' hands.
3. Prevents contamination of the filling area
Kegs often return from bars, restaurants, or distributors in relatively dirty conditions. Washing the outside before entering the filling process helps maintain a cleaner production environment.
4. Protects valves and fittings
The keg spear, coupler area, handles, and bottom of the keg can accumulate dirt. Proper external cleaning helps keep these areas clean and reduces problems during subsequent keg connection and filling.
5. Gives the keg a professional appearance
Clean stainless-steel kegs look much more professional when delivered to customers. This is particularly important for breweries operating their own keg fleet.
6. Reduces manual cleaning work
An automatic external keg washer can replace much of the manual brushing and rinsing work, especially when the brewery handles hundreds or thousands of kegs per day.
The external washing can use brush to clean the keg body, top, bottom and handles, and then rotating spray nozzles or high-pressure spray jets to make it clean.
