The key point of beer brewhouse pipeline cleaning is giving full play to the mechanical function to improve the cleaning effect. During the cleaning of pipeline, the flow state has a great influence on the cleaning effect. If the flow rate is slow, the fluid in the pipeline is prone to stratification. Under the action of friction, the flow rate of the brewhouse pipeline inside shows a speed gradient from the center to the edge (slower) , then the dirt is difficult to be washed off. So a higher flow rate must be used to form a vortex and flow in pipeline.

In order to ensure the pipeline is totally cleaned, the leaning fluid must have a certain intensity of rushing, and its value can refer to the table as below:

Pipeline diameter Flow rate
DN< 50
50< DN< 100
100< DN
3~4m/s
2 m/s
<1.5m/s

According to the empirical data shown, when the hot cleaning fluid is used for cleaning, the flow rate better be maintained at 1~1.5 m/s. In addition, attention should be paid to the cleaning of CO2 and compressed air pipelines and their accessories, at least 5 times per year.

If the straight pipe part has a three-way joint, its flow rate must be increased to the minimum scouring strength of 1.5m/s. So the beer pipeline, especially the beer line after sterilization or filtration, should not be provided with tee and T-shaped joints as much as possible. It must needed, the joints should be as short as possible, and should be close to the main road to prevent dead ends. The selection of the flow direction of pipeline cleaning is to adopt the reverse of the material flow.
